Alaska and the Arctic | EP. 88

Michaela is a young Black woman, born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. After she graduated college, she lived and worked 660 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Norway. Since then she has become an author and recently wrote a travel memoir titled, Welp: Climate Change and Arctic Identities. This book gives a realistic and beautiful picture of travel in the Arctic—from visiting reindeer herders to hiking mountains to nearly getting in a fight at a Norwegian music festival.
